I Am Beautiful Book Launch and Learning Lab Experience

Dionne Grayson, the author of The Children's Gift Series, will host the "I Am Beautiful" Book Launch and Learning Lab Experience on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Alverno College (La Verna Commons), 3400 South 43rd Street in Milwaukee, WI.

Attendees will enjoy the launch of "I Am Beautiful" in a kid friendly environment. Additionally, young girls will have the opportunity to participate in interactive activities, also known as Learning Labs, where they will be introduced to various careers by local business owners. They will also engage in make and take projects that they'll be able to take home.

To enhance your experience, we are offering a limited-edition glitter tote bag at a discounted price of $25. In addition to the free goodie bag girls will receive a event t-shirt along with other items they will enjoy! You'll receive instructions on how to purchase once you register.

This FREE event is designed for girls, 4 to 10 years old, and includes a kid-friendly meal, giveaways, goodie bags and more. Participants must be present to receive goodie bags, which are for girls ages 4 - 10 years old.

This event is free and open to the public.

You must register to attend and the event is on a first come, first serve basis. Registered attendees will get priority and there is a special gift for the first 25 girls that arrive!

Every girl will receive a ticket to enter a raffle to win a one of a kind I Am Beautiful doll. If you purchase the glitter bag, you'll receive an additional 5 tickets to enter the raffle.

Free parking is available in the parking structure located off of Morgan Street. We recommend you arrive early to ensure a space in the lot. Please enter the building through the Sister Joel Reed Conference Center and follow the signs to the Laverna Commons.

About the Book
"I Am Beautiful" is a self-love story that serves as a gentle guide to fostering self-love and confidence. Using age-appropriate language and concepts empowers young readers to embrace their uniqueness and recognize their worth. Through affirmations and thoughtful prompts, it encourages girls to cultivate a positive self-image and explore their potential.

According to the World Health Organization, only 11 percent of girls worldwide feel comfortable using the word "beautiful" to describe themselves. It is very important to affirm children when they are young, as the words they speak become part of how they see and feel about who they are and what they are capable of.
