Hymns Through History

We invite you to join us as we gather to explore and discuss the history of Christian hymns. We will begin our journey in the late 1600s when the Christian song finally evolved into “hymns” as we know today. Our adventure will continue all the way to the present day, as new traditional hymns are still being written every year. Along the way, we’ll pause every few decades to sing a beloved hymn from that era and experience the story of faith through music.
We will be led by Clay Oglesby, Director of Music Ministries at First Presbyterian Church of Morristown, TN, and Director of Choral Activities at Walters State Community College.
Following the musical presentation, we invite you to stay and enjoy a sweet time of fellowship with banana splits and a build-your-own ice cream bar!
