Join us for a special edition of our Hutted Histories series as we celebrate 25 years of Khaki Devil: Putting Accurate Military History on Stage & Screen - and the story of where it all began.
There would be no Great War Huts without Khaki Devil. What started 25 years ago as a passion for authentic military uniforms and equipment for film, television and theatre has grown into a remarkable journey that ultimately led to the creation of Great War Huts.
To mark this special anniversary, we'll be sharing stories from behind the scenes of some of the many productions Khaki Devil has been fortunate enough to work on, including Downton Abbey, All Creatures Great and Small, Blue Peter, Sainsbury's Christmas Truce Advert and Doctor Who. From famous faces and a few infamous characters, to the many ordinary people who make productions happen, there have been plenty of memorable encounters along the way.
The work has taken us around the world and given us the opportunity to be involved in some truly fascinating projects. But whether it's a big-budget movie with hundreds of people on set or an amateur production in a village hall, one thing has never changed: the details matter. We put the same care and attention into getting the uniforms, equipment and historical detail right, whatever the size or budget of the production.
Come along for an entertaining look behind the scenes at 25 years of Khaki Devil - the stories, the people, the places and the military history we've helped bring to the stage and screen. Hear some tales that have never been told before, get a glimpse of what really goes on behind the stage curtain, and perhaps hear the odd story that might be considered just a little indiscreet! And discover how a company supplying uniforms and equipment for productions became the starting point for Great War Huts.
