Hurricane season is almost here, and there’s no better time to get prepared while enjoying a fun day at the park.Join Dorchester County for the Hurricane Prep Expo & Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ashley River Park. This free community event is your one-stop shop for hurricane preparedness. Meet local first responders, emergency personnel, nonprofits and community organizations that help before, during and after a storm. You’ll be able to gather valuable preparedness information, ask questions and learn how to better protect your home and family this hurricane season.
Families can also enjoy a full lineup of activities including inflatables, train rides around the pond, face painting, balloon art, food and more. Kids of all ages are welcome.
Special guests from WCSC Live 5 News will also be attending, including meteorologist Bill Walsh, giving residents a chance to meet some familiar faces from local television while learning more about severe weather and hurricane preparedness.
Admission to the Hurricane Prep Expo & Family Fun Day is free with the standard $2 admission to the park.
