Study major events in Florida history, and there’s a good chance a hurricane was involved. Learn how these amazing but devastating weather machines work and how they affected Florida, with a special focus on the great 1928 storm, the subject of the award-winning Black Cloud. The presenter, Eliot Kleinberg, spent more than four decades as a reporter, including more than 33 years at The Palm Beach Post. He produced two history columns and more than a dozen books about the state.
This Florida Talks program was sponsored in part by Florida Humanities with funds from the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
