Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia's beloved Camp Tanglewood in Augusta has sustained significant damage due to Hurricane Helene. Several cabins have been destroyed, a bathhouse is no longer standing, and the lodge has suffered major damage.
We are in the process of removing the most dangerous debris and fallen structures from the camp grounds and will have a Community Hurricane Clean Up Day on Saturday, December 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
If you own chainsaws, gas, or trailers we invite you to bring those with you! Please bring your own PPE such as goggles, gloves, and earbuds, as well.
Closed toed shoes or boots are required.
At this time, please be mindful that there is no working sewage on site. We do have running water and will also have bottled water available.
Day of, please enter Camp Tanglewood by using the barn entrance off of Columbia Road. We will share more details regarding the work day on the Facebook Event page as details progress.
