We’re excited to host Boat Command and Zones for the second time and Cloutchaser for the third time. If you’ve never heard Brady Storm on drums you’re in for a treat. We consider him among the top three drummers if not THE top drummer to have performed at Huron Stage. He will drum for Cloutchaser and Zones. Cameron Price of Cloutchaser is one of the most skilled guitarists we’ve had and his unconventional style is a sight to behold. Whether or not you appreciate math rock/metal, I recommend that every live music lover experience Cloutchaser in person at least once. Daniel Combs is also in the upper tier of keys players we’ve hosted. All four musicians in Boat Command are super talented and have such a chill atmospheric vibe. Bios and links to songs are below.
Boat Command is an Asheville, NC-based quartet known for their "post-lofi yacht hop" sound, blending jazz, fusion, hip-hop, and electronic music with a focus on chill vibes, space in their music, and themes of embracing water/boating, often featuring bass, keys, guitar, drums, and occasional horns/vocals. They aim for expressive, low-volume music that invites listeners to relax and "embrace what boating can do for you," with a strong local presence and independent spirit.
Cloutchaser is an instrumental math-rock/metal duo featuring guitarist Cameron Price and drummer Brady Kennedy, formed during the COVID pandemic after meeting at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC; known for complex, technical riffs inspired by metal but with math-rock structure, they gained traction on Reddit and social media for their debut album This Is Real Math Rock, blending intricate musicianship with a humorous online presence, with recent activity pointing to growth in their "Fruit Rock" sound.
Zones, a fusion duo comprised of Daniel Combs on keys and Brady Storm on drums, weave together hypnotic rhythms, rich textures, and driving beats, moving between ambient soundscapes and hard-hitting jams, often with a jazz-fusion or experimental improvisation feel.
