Get ready to experience the biggest Independence Day procession west of the Mississippi River as Surf City USA hosts the 122nd Annual Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade. Taking place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, this legendary seaside tradition carries extra historical weight by honoring the United States' semiquincentennial with the official theme "America's 250." The grand parade is officially scheduled to step off at 10:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), serving as the high-energy focal point of a massive multi-day beachside celebration.

Led by radio legend Tim Conway Jr. as the 2026 Grand Marshal alongside surfing pioneer Peter "PT" Townend, the scenic 2.5-mile route offers an unmatched oceanfront backdrop. The procession begins at Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and 9th Street, passing directly by the iconic Huntington Beach Pier before turning up Main Street to march through downtown and residential neighborhoods, ultimately concluding near Yorktown Avenue. Attendees can look forward to an elite lineup of over 150 unique groups, including military veterans, elaborate patriotic floats, and energetic marching bands, all broadcasted live on KABC Channel 7.

For attendees seeking the perfect vantage point, free public viewing is available all along the sidewalks on a first-come, first-served basis, while premium bleacher seating tickets near Main & PCH can be purchased in advance for twenty-seven dollars. Because this historic milestone draws over 500,000 visitors, guests are highly encouraged to arrive well before the strict 5:00 AM downtown street closures, which completely halt traffic on PCH between Goldenwest Street and Beach Boulevard until 2:00 PM. All-day parking is available at the Main Promenade structure for a thirty-dollar cash-only flat fee or at the City Beach Parking Lot via the Beach Boulevard entrance.

The coastal festivities continue long into the summer evening, making it simple to build a complete holiday itinerary right by the water.

After the parade wraps up, families can head down to the Pier Plaza Festival to enjoy live musical entertainment, local food trucks, and a vibrant community carnival. The epic celebration reaches its peak at 9:00 PM with the spectacular Fireworks Over the Ocean display, where a breathtaking pyrotechnic show is launched straight from the end of the Huntington Beach Pier, illuminating the Pacific shoreline in a brilliant tribute to America's 250th birthday.
