Hunger Has No Place Here- Community Food Insecurity Forum
About this Event
Join Community Resource Service, the Brant Food Systems Coalition, the County of Brant, and the City of Brantford for "Hunger Has No Place Here" a community symposium and advocacy event focused on food insecurity in Brantford and the County of Brant.
Held during Hunger Action Month, this free three-hour event will bring together residents, community organizations, service providers, educators, businesses, local leaders, producers, and people with lived experience to explore the realities of food insecurity in our communities and the factors that contribute to it.
Participants will hear from a keynote speaker, engage in interactive activities, and take part in a panel discussion highlighting local perspectives, experiences, and expertise. Together, we will examine the root causes of food insecurity, better understand its impact on individuals and families, and explore opportunities for collective action and advocacy.
Food insecurity is about more than hunger. It is connected to issues such as poverty, housing affordability, income security, health, and social well-being. Through learning, dialogue, and collaboration, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges facing our community and the role we can all play in supporting meaningful change.
Whether you work in the food sector, provide community services, advocate for social change, or simply want to learn more about food insecurity in Brantford and the County of Brant, this event offers an opportunity to connect, share perspectives, and be part of the conversation.
