The band Hunger, consisting of Christoph Rothmeier and Jörg Hochapfel, has been around since 1996, initially on Lake Constance, then for a long time in Hamburg, and finally in Berlin.
Previously known in the music world for their ""abstract pop studies with a Dadaist bent"" (taz) and ""nervous disco-punk racket"" (Tagesspiegel), they have in recent years moved into a somewhat quieter, but no less disorienting, musical territory between stumbling exotica and out-of-tune fake folk, using synthesizers, home organs, theremin, and homemade instruments.
They're bringing with them their brand-new album ""Trikotin,"" consisting of eight tracks improvised and subsequently refined in a secret French studio, available in the most practical and versatile format imaginable: a 36-page, lovingly risographed sheet music book!
