Humber Nature Forum: Connected Through Water
The water that flows under the Humber Bridge and out into the North Sea begins its journey hundreds of miles away in Warwickshire, Staffordshire and North Yorkshire and many counties in-between. Join the Humber Nature Forum for a morning of talks from organisations who work around the waters that feed into the Humber, and for whom the Humber Estuary provides a vital highway for migratory fish. Speakers include:
- Mike Jones (Humberhead Levels Partnership): Water level management for the benefit of lowland peat and nature in the Humberhead Levels. Mike will present a summary of the water level management and peatland restoration projects designed and delivered within protected sites and on farmland in the Humberhead Levels.

- Andy Sadler (Great Yorkshire Rivers Partnership): An introduction to the Partnership that has ambitions to tackle all the barriers in Yorkshire that are having a significant impact on fish populations by 2043. Hear about the origins of the Partnership, the funding available, our approach and what we hope to achieve in the first 5 years.

- Scott McKenzie (Trent Rivers Trust): Good connectivity along our watercourses and to the surrounding floodplains is essential for the recovery of many of our protected aquatic species. Scott will talk about the work being undertaken by multiple partners to shine more light on the current state of our freshwater species, and what efforts are being made to aid their recovery through research and restoration.

Plus a discussion on other environmental projects going on around the Humber.
Tickets are free but registration is essential.
