Looking for new ideas for the humanities classroom? You're not alone — traditional essay assignments have become fraught in the age of generative AI. Drop in for a lunchtime conversation on re-invigorating humanities teaching practices. Each presenter will offer one pedagogical strategy that they developed over the summer as part of the Center for the Humanities Teaching Innovation Fellowship. The event will include three short presentations that focus on useful takeaways for faculty, followed by Q&A. Presenters include:Amy Koehlinger, "Place-Based Pedagogy: Deep Listening in a Collaborative Field Class." Amy will present alongside one of her field class students, Andi Scarbrough.
Valeria Ochoa, "Utilizing VoiceThread for Final Presentations"
Kim McAloney, "Learning to Lead: A Showcase of Student Praxis"
Refreshments will be served!
