Human trafficking is among the world's fastest growing crimes and is considered a form of modern day slavery.
About this Event

Human trafficking is estimated to be the fastest growing enterprise in the world. Forty-nine percent of Muskegon residents have experienced ACEs (adverse childhood experiences), which leaves individuals at a significantly greater risk of human trafficking.

This seminar is an in-depth examination of human trafficking: how to recognize potential victims, address barriers around reporting and legalities, and share best practices for providing support and restoration to victims and survivors. The presenter will also discuss the role of trauma and the impact it has on victims and survivors in their journey.

This presentation is appropriate for human service professionals, educators, and the general community.

There is no cost for general community members.

3 Social Work CEs are available. There is a $25 registration fee for those seeking CEs. Please be sure to include your social work license number in the registration if requesting CEs. Eventbrite fees will be deducted for any cancellations.
