10 – 10:30 am Arrive, orient to space, Definitions of human trafficking and its forms
10:30 – 11am Root causes of human trafficking:
- Investigate the underlying factors contributing to human trafficking, such as poverty, gender inequality, discrimination, migration patterns, and cultural norms.
- Recognize individuals and groups most at risk of being trafficked, such as women and children from marginalized communities, migrants, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
11-11:15 am Break
11:15 – 12pm Human Trafficking Networks and Methods:
- Study the organizational structures of trafficking networks, recruitment tactics, transportation methods, and control mechanisms used by traffickers.
- Learn how to identify and assess familial and intergenerational patterns of human trafficking related to family systems and how each generation can be affected.
- Learn what questions to ask for assessment purposes
