The World Report 2025 examines the human rights situation in more than 100 countries worldwide over the past year. At the Asia launch, we will discuss chapters focusing on Asian countries and regional trends of rising authoritarianism and transnational repression. These include: intensifying abuses and crimes against humanity in China, Myanmar and North Korea; escalating repression of civil society in Vietnam and Cambodia; and weakening of democratic institutions and the rule of law in India, Pakistan and Thailand.
