About this Event

Part 2 of the Human Rights & Business Series

Join the Center for Responsible Business for a discussion with Haas and Cal alumni about how they navigated their career pathways, examples of strategies they have used for integrating social sustainability into their roles, and what it looks like to manage human rights in today’s economy. Attendees will leave this discussion with an understanding of how they can incorporate responsible business into their own careers, regardless of their future role or function. Food and refreshments will be provided.

About the Series:

The series, in partnership with professional faculty, Jenny Vaughan and Sanchita Saxena, expands collaborations at the critical intersection of business, social equity, and sustainability, by asking: What is social sustainability and what constitutes responsible conduct? What are ways business can prevent harm to people and the environment, and how can companies integrate social sustainability and human rights into their strategies?

Through the series, students will gain insights into key sustainability concepts, the connection between social and environmental issues, and the role of international standards and stakeholder expectations. The series will also explore practical examples of sustainable business practices through viable career pathways, strategies for remediating harm, and the growing business case for managing human rights in today’s economy.

Co-sponsored by Business for Social Responsibility, Human Rights Center at Berkeley Law, and the Association for Socially Responsible Business.
