The ESGR Briefing with the Boss provides employers with a high-level understanding of the Guard and Reserve experience, including basic USERRA responsibilities and protections, what military service requires of employees, and how supportive employers contribute to military readiness. The briefing also introduces ESGR resources, employer recognition opportunities, and the value of open communication between service members and their civilian employers.

With the AI wave rushing toward us, we’re collectively navigating a new landscape shaped by technology that’s not only unfamiliar, but one which provokes existential questions of what it means to be human, what happens to jobs, creativity, agency, and life as we know it. The fear, anxiety, and overwhelm are real—I know because it’s the path I’ve walked, from someone who was firmly anti-AI less than a year ago to today where I see a hopeful, expansive path ahead, and one that needs our participation to create the future we desire.
This session is the path from there to here, and what I wish someone had told me at the start.
