Huichol Art Boutique Holiday Open House

Each piece of art -- beaded jewelry, beaded bowls, yarn paintings, woven bags, God's eyes, and more -- is infused with the spirit of these people closely connected to nature and unbroken traditions dating back thousands of years.

The Huichol Art Project was founded by the Blue Deer Center to actively support the Huichols by creating markets for their artwork to be sold at a fair market price. Aside from administrative expenses, all proceeds go directly back to the artists themselves. The project is supported by volunteers, in six countries on three continents. • Enable many Huichol families to remain in their homeland maintaining and passing on their traditions, rather than migrating to the lowlands to be exploited in factories and tobacco plantations. You literally help them put food on their tables.
• Create a visible, concrete link to the people who provided us with the offerings we use to create sacred relationship with Fire.
• Support exchange with the Huichol people, fulfilling an old prophecy that our peoples will one day be of mutual benefit to one another.
