We’re very pleased to announced Hugo Chegwin (AKA DJ Beats from Kurupt FM) will be appearing at Strings on Friday 27 March! He is one of the breakout stars of BBC’s cult classic ‘People Just Do Nothing’, the BAFTA-winning series that took pirate radio culture global.
Beyond Kurupt FM, Hugo’s built a serious TV career with standout roles on Taskmaster, The Curse, The Agency and major appearances across UK comedy and film. He has also built an impressive career in music as an accomplished songwriter and producer, having written for major international artists including Emeli Sandé, Sam Smith, and Mary J. Blige. His work on Sandé’s hit single “Next to Me” earned him two prestigious Ivor Novello Awards, firmly establishing his reputation as a gifted composer and musician - what a LEGEND!
