Join us for our next Huaka‘i Hele Adventure—a special opportunity to explore the beauty of Hawai‘i Island while staying active and connecting with our community!
**What is Huaka‘i Hele?**
Huaka‘i Hele is a program created in partnership with ʻOhana Wa‘a Laulima and Full Life Hawai‘i to encourage individuals of all abilities to explore new trails, enjoy the outdoors, and embrace the healing power of nature. Each month, we visit a different trail, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for everyone.
**February’s Adventure – Steam Vents Trail**
This month, we’ll be walking the Steam Vents Trail at Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. This beautiful, fully paved/boardwalk-style trail is wheelchair/walker accessible.
Join us as we explore the park’s unique geothermal steam vents and lush surroundings. It’s a wonderful chance to experience the natural beauty of our island in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Who Can Join?
🌿 Open to individuals with physical or developmental disabilities and general supporters
🌿 Friends, family, and caregivers are welcome
🌿 Trails will be adjusted based on participants’ needs
This is the first Adventure open to the public and we hope to continue to invite the community moving forward.
Volunteers are also more than welcome to join us as we do have some participants who need additional physical assistance.

📍 Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park Visitors Center - Please look for Ian who will be wearing a yellow and teal 'Ohana Wa'a Laulima hoodie.
