More than four years ago we began our Hua Parakore journey, and now we are delighted to invite you to our verification celebration. The Hua Parakore process has challenged us to deepen our connection to the whenua, think deeply and holistically about our practices, and expand our knowledge of growing kai atua, clean kai.
This is a really significant milestone for us and we need you, our wonderful community, to be there and act as our verifiers! Getting to this point has been a whole community effort and this is a celebration of all the human and non-human beings we collaborate with in (and out of) the māra to make the magic happen - that’s you! Please join us to whakanui this important moment.
What:
We will start with a welcome by Taranaki Whānui, and as a group will hīkoi trhough the māra as we wānanga about our Hua Parakore journey and how we practice this kaupapa at our urban farm. To finish we will share kai prepared from the māra.
When:
Saturday 14th November, 11am - 1:30pm
Where:
Kaicycle Urban Farm, 5 Hospital Rd, Newtown (opposite the blood donor centre).
Bring:
Clothes that are appropriate for the weather on the day as we have limited shelter.
Kai to share if you are able.
This event is weather dependent so keep an eye out for updates in the lead up.
