About this Event
In this series of three linked events, we will work with participants to explore and support each other in developing practical approaches, and maximising HR’s role in organisational effectiveness. This will be done through three lenses: culture, change management, and supporting line managers. All are interrelated, and are reflected as themes in the CIPD Working Lives Scotland 2024 Report.
Session 2: HR and Change Management
Because of the pressures many organisations face, and the rate of technological change, the need to adapt and change has never been greater. This makes change management a core competence for leaders, managers and HR professionals.
HR is widely looked to as the subject matter expert when it comes to the people aspects of change management. This needs to be focused on the psychological and emotional aspects of change, not just process, particularly in a world where digitisation is an enabler but may be seen as a threat to jobs by many.
This session will examine the ways in which HR can advocate for a balanced approach to change management which ensures that processes support both the needs of the organisation, and the individuals in it.
This supports the following elements of the CIPD Profession Map:
- Core knowledge – Business acumen / change / technology and people
- Core behaviours – Valuing people / working inclusively
- Specialist knowledge – Employee relations / Org development & design
Speakers:
- Kim Woolner – Independent HR & Wellbeing Consultant
- Tom Power – Director of People & Culture, NHS Grampian
