Join the HPO Songbirds and HPO Ensemble for an enchanting performance of Prokofiev’s beloved Peter and the Wolf, and highlights from Rodgers & Hammerstein's lyrical Sound of Music.
HPO looks forward to welcoming families, young children and classical music lovers to this accessible and engaging performance at Christ Church St Leonards.
Experience Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf performed by the HPO Ensemble, under the direction of Marcio da Silva, accompanied by narration and puppetry. Japanese Bunraku-style puppets and scenery, skilfully created and directed by Orlando Bishop, will be guided by the HPO Songbirds children’s choir to bring this popular narrative to life.
This Family Concert, the opening concert of our HPO Open Doors Festival 2026, offers a perfect opportunity to share popular and accessible classical music with the whole family, completely free of charge.
