Howlin for a Cause: A Special Name That Tune Night Celebrating the Life of Mike
Please take a minute to read this all:
Why is this night different?
1. First off, who is Mike? Well, Mike was my father. My dad passed away earlier this year from cancer. (Fuck cancer!) He is someone I think about and miss every single day. The week of this event would have been his birthday. I wanted to create an event (and I would love to do this yearly for as long as I am able to do this music thing) that was just all about things that he enjoyed. He was an amazing role-model, father, brother, friend and person. You may not have known my Mike, but I think everyone has a "Mike" in their lives.
2. My father loved animals and he always wanted to make sure they were well taken care of. Our friends from the Canine Rescue of Central PA will be joining up and we will be hosting a donation/adoption event. More details will follow on what this will look like and I will add it here.
If you are interested in making a donation, please go here: https://www.crcpa.org/donate
They will also be accepting monetary donations at the event.
3. We are going to have our local musicians back to play against you once more, but this time it will look a little different. They have offered their services to entertain us all between rounds and play some amazing tunes for you all. I will make sure to add all musicians to this page as well so you are able to see and follow them to see where they are playing next.
4. I hope everyone is able to make this event. Please make reservations and RSVP here so I can have a better idea what this will look like. It is extra meaningful for me and I am pulling out all the stops to try to make it a special event and one I think my dad would enjoy if he were here to see it.
Think you know music?
