Howl at the Moon: Buck Moon Summit Hike
Advertisement
Join us for a rare evening adventure on Wednesday, July 29 into the wild landscape of Jack London State Historic Park as we hike to the Park summit beneath the rising Buck Moon. July's Buck Moon is named for the time when deer are growing new antlers—a symbol of strength, renewal, and the height of summer. At Jack London State Historic Park, it also evokes The Call of the Wild, where Buck's journey mirrors the untamed spirit of these mountains.
We'll begin our ascent in the golden light of late afternoon, reach the summit as the sun sets, and watch the full Buck Moon rise over Sonoma Valley. Then we'll experience the Park in an entirely different way—returning under moonlight as shadows lengthen and the landscape takes on a wilder character.
