Cosplayers, Circus, and Burlesque Performers Rejoice! Experienced performers and event producers share their travel packing secrets!
About this Event

Professional Circus, Burlesque, and Theater Artists share the tools, tips, and tricks they've learned for storing everything from oversize props to delicate feather headdresses.

You'll learn to "design for storage," find options beyond plastic boxes and dry cleaning bags, and dive into the details of storing feathers, fur, foam, and fininicky fabrics.

The workshop will end with a 20-minute Q&A to help brainstorm your own storage challenges.

ABOUT THE EDUCATORS:

Red Rum is a performance artist specializing in burlesque, drag, spectacle costuming, horror & gore, and .upcycling. In addition to storage tips, Red Rum will be talking about properly labeling prop weapons, body parts, and other alarming props to get them safely and legally through airport security

MsPixy has been performing, directing, and costuming in Chicago theater, burlesque, and cosplay since 1999, and is still using carefully-stored prop and costume items she acquired in the late 1980s at age 10. She is known for her "costume puppetry," pieces which create unique storage challenges with their unusual sizes, shapes, and materials.
