How to Plan Planting a Vineyard

Start by evaluating your site for sunlight, soil drainage, and slope, then prepare the land by tilling and amending the soil based on a soil test. Next, plan the vineyard layout, including row direction and spacing, install the necessary trellising system, determine irrigation needs, and order vines after deciding on varietal, rootstock and clone. Finally, plant the vines and continue to provide support and care as they grow.
