How to have the Tough Conversation you have been Avoiding
Ready to finally tackle that difficult talk? Join us in person and learn easy, practical tips to handle those tricky conversations with confidence. No more dodging—it's time to face it head-on and come out stronger!
This four hour workshop is designed to give you familiarity with the necessary non-violent communication theory for having conversations that are prone to emotional flare-ups and harshly worded and/or spoken communications. There will also be opportunity for participants to practice techniques in group activities to help solidify the theory discussed.
What you can expct to learn in the training:
● Developing emotional awareness and regulation
● Intentional listening and responding
● Finding common ground and building trust
● Finding resolution in conflict
● Neurobiology information that contextualizes skills taught
Meet the Trainer: Ash Edmonds!
Ash Edmonds holds a B.A. with an emphasis in Psychology from Evergreen State College and is certified in mediation, family mediation, and multi-party mediation through The Dispute Resolution Center, with certifications recognized by Resolution Washington. A practicing mediator since 2020, Ash Edmonds formly was the Volunteer Manager and a Trainer at The Dispute Resolution Center, where they support the development of new mediators and help build effective conflict resolution skills within the community. Drawing on both practical mediation experience and a strong foundation in adult learning, they are passionate about empowering individuals and organizations to navigate difficult conversations with confidence and compassion.
