About this Event
Have you ever had a mystical experience? What is a mystical experience? What does it feel like? Why would you want to have one?
Come to this workshop and discover the answers to these questions and more!
Would you like to be able to go into ecstatic states at will? How would it be to have access to hidden truths? Whether you believe in something you call God, or just that there’s a universal consciousness, an absolute, or great mystery, how would it be to experience contact with it?
In this workshop we’ll talk about what mysticism means and share stories of extraordinary experiences that many of us have had. We’ll explore some techniques that lead to non-ordinary states in which we can feel the connection with the divine or great mystery. You’ll leave with some practices that you can do to refine your ability to have ecstatic experiences on your own. And you’ll be invited to join an ongoing group that will explore these practices and others together over an extended period of time (joining the group is optional – you’ll be able to do the practices on your own if you don’t want to join the group).
I’ve been doing breathwork for over 35 years, and regular meditation for at least 10 years. And from those practices (and others) I’ve had many experiences that feel to me like being in the presence of a loving intelligence. Sometimes it’s just a warm embrace, and sometimes it has answers to a question or a call to action in the world. As time goes on, I’ve been able to have those experiences at will, and I’d like to share some of the practices that have helped me be able to do this. This workshop will be an experiment, because I haven’t taught anyone to have a mystical experience before. But the practices have worked for me and I’m hoping they will for you as well. You may have to do them for a while, but I think that even in this first session together we’ll be able to have experiences that make it a worthy experiment.
This will be an intimate workshop, limited to 8 participants. If it fills up there will be a waiting list. If you're closer to Baltimore, consider attending the earlier event in Timonium on March 1 (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1229526720519).
I'm asking a $15 donation to attend because I want people to make a commitment to coming, hopefully to avoid no-shows. If money is an issue please contact me and we'll work something out.
