How to Get Hired at a Construction Company
About this Event
Hiring managers from Sacramento-area construction and trades companies are in the room all afternoon. This session is the hour that tells you how to talk to them.
Construction hiring does not work like office hiring. Crews hire on reliability, safety sense, and whether you will show up at 6am — often before anyone reads a resume. This workshop covers what that means for you:
- What a construction employer scans for in the first thirty seconds, and what they ignore.
- How to present experience when yours came from a different trade, the military, or another industry entirely.
- Which certifications and cards open doors here — OSHA 10, a clean driving record, and what an apprenticeship really asks of you.
- Getting hired with no experience: the entry points that exist, and how people move up from them.
- What to say at a booth so a recruiter remembers you after fifty conversations.
Straightforward, local, and built for people ready to work. Come with questions.
