The Lansdowne Public Library and Buy Nothing Lansdowne (BNL)* invite you to attend a financial literacy presentation and housewares Free Fair on Saturday October 26, 2024 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at the library.
BNL is a community Facebook group whose goal is to create connections between neighbors through the free exchange of items and gifts of time and service.
How does this relate to finance? Directly - you get free things! You get rid of things that are taking up physical and mental space in your house! Indirectly, but most importantly - you build a strong network of community support to help you when you need it, beyond “free stuff.” And the group is “need blind” - we strongly believe everyone has something to give and everyone can accept items or help.
What is a Free Fair? It’s a way to meet your neighbors! But it’s also a way to get FREE THINGS and to give items for free. Drop off items between 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, the free fair will open after the presentation.
No buying, selling, trading or swapping. This free fair will focus on household goods. Please provide items in good condition with nothing broken, dirty, moldy, or stained. No TVs, mattresses or items from a smoking household.
The event is free of charge, open to the public. The library is accessible and has bathrooms available. You do not need a library card to attend, but it is a great opportunity to get one before or after the event.
