Tackling the granny square doesn’t have to be a daunting feat. The Altered Stitch is hosting another How to Be a Hooker workshop at White Buffalo Coffee Bar, and this session is all about mastering the classic granny square.
This workshop is great for crocheters who already know the basics. You should be comfortable chaining, single crocheting, and double crocheting—or at least close to getting your double crochet down. From there, we’ll build the skills you need to start creating your own squares with confidence.
What you’ll learn:
How to make a magic circle or work in the round
The foundational techniques behind traditional granny squares
Ways to customize and “spice up” your squares with color and style
How to join squares to create cardigans, blankets, bags, and more
Think of the granny square as the crocheter’s version of a quilt block—versatile, timeless, and full of creative potential. Whether you’re brand new to granny squares or already stitching them up, you’ll leave with new techniques and inspiration.
Cozy vibes, good coffee, and a welcoming space are all included.
Happy Stitching :)
