This high energy, informative talk, given by local bird enthusiasts and habitat gardeners Rachel and Mike Green, will be packed with tips on how to increase the number and types of birds visiting your City of Bayswater garden, whatever its size.
It will be supported by beautiful photographs and videos, details of local bird-attracting plants, ideas on how to provide the best food sources, bird baths and perches, and inspiring ways to make positive safe havens so birds can nest. You’ll even be able to try out the “What do birds need to nest?” quiz!
Rachel and Mike’s bird garden has been featured on Gardening Australia this year. They have successfully turned a small barren garden of lawn and roses into a thriving bird habitat garden, which so far has had 44 bird species in it. A study has shown that the number of bird species seen in people’s gardens is directly related to their happiness levels. Join us - this talk may be good for your mental health as well as for the birds.
