York Hospital's newest pulmonary specialist, Dr. Thomas Meehan, will present "How Much Do You Know About Lung Health?" on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, from noon to 1 p.m. at the York Public Library, 15 Long Sands Road in York. This free lunch-and-learn will offer community members a chance to learn more about lung health, recognize potential concerns, and explore ways to breathe easier.
Lung cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women in the United States. Attendees will learn who is at higher risk, the screening protocol for high-risk patients, and what happens after a screening. Dr. Meehan will discuss York Hospital’s lung nodule program and access to advanced bronchoscopy procedures. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the importance of a multidisciplinary care team that includes medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, and hospice care professionals.
