The Hovering Spooks continue our 2025 tour by returning to the fabulous Gasoline Pony on Saturday afternoon, 5th April. We will be playing early and are very pleased to announce that our good friend Paul Berwick will play a set to round off the afternoon’s entertainment. Saturday afternoons at the Gasoline Pony are always enjoyable so come along to have a drink and a bite to eat while listening to good music.The Hovering Spooks play psychedelic-post-punk-power-pop-art-rock. The band members have been an integral part of the Australian indie music scene since the late seventies both as live performers and recording artists. The Spooks have recently released Andy Says and will be playing a couple of new songs at the gig.
The Spooks are:
• Bruce “Cub” Callaway - Guitar and Vocals
• Paul Larsen - Drums and Vocals
• Richard Burgman - Guitar and Vocals
• Phil Hall - Bass and Vocals
Their CVs are too long to list, but as The Barman said in his recent I-94 Bar review of The Spooks “the bands that their members haven’t played in can be accommodated on the big end of a pin ... if that’s not enough underground star power for you, go form your own supergroup.”
Paul Berwick is a singer/songwriter who has fronted numerous Sydney based bands - Positive Hatred, Happy Hate Me Nots, Settlement, Driven and most recently Paul Berwick's Magnetic Quartet. Paul writes thoughtful and memorable songs that are put across in a convincing way. Think guitar-based music, with strong melodies and impassioned singing.
Currently, Paul is exploring new horizons with his songs. The songs stand on their own and his solo gigs allows space for them to shine. Paul is currently putting the finishing touches on some new recordings which will soon be available via streaming.
