BLENDED LEARNING
A significant amount of e-learning lectures/webinars, pre-study and successful completion of revision tests and assignments are required prior to attendance at K9 Health Center in March 2026. You should plan your study time prior to attendance carefully and allow a minimum of 12 weeks to complete your pre-study, revision tests and assignments. We need time to mark your assignments and give advice before meeting you in Houston for the practical training days!
We will schedule ZOOM tutorials so you can meet your lecturers and fellow students. We can give guidance and support and you can ask for help with questions and assignments.
During the attendance part of this course you will have some evening homework/assignments to complete. After attendance there will be final assignments, case studies and vet reports to be submitted and passed in order to gain your full UK qualification/certification.
PRACTICAL TRAINING
There are six required practical training attendance days at K9 Health Center. We include a full day of Canine Anatomy, revising what you have learnt online, and moving forwards with your studies. There are half day practicals for First Aid and Water Management. Plus four full days in the busy hydrotherapy centre working with the team in the hydrotherapy pool. Although the focus is on hydrotherapy treatment in a pool, you will also gain experience with using the water treadmill. We ensure you achieve a minimum of fifteen hydrotherapy sessions to complete your training log. You are assessed on at least ten sessions and write up case studies/notes for every hydrotherapy session you complete. So when you finish training with us you are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to begin work as a canine hydrotherapist.
We make no apologies! This is a fast paced, mentally and physically demanding course. It is not an easy canine hydrotherapy training option. But once completed you absolutely know that you have been trained to the highest professional and ethical standards and can be proud to be part of the international canine hydrotherapy community.
