Houston in Production: The Business, Creativity & Future of Film in Houston
commercial production, branded storytelling, film & content?
About this Event
Houston has long been home to a thriving commercial film and content production industry serving healthcare, energy, sports, corporate communications, advertising, and national brands. At the same time, Texas continues to invest in growing its entertainment industry through film, television, streaming, and independent productions.
While these two worlds often overlap, they also have distinct challenges, opportunities, and ecosystems.
Our conversation will primarily focus on commercial production—the sector most closely aligned with AAF Houston’s membership—while also exploring how the entertainment industry contributes to Houston’s creative economy, strengthens our production infrastructure, and creates opportunities that benefit the broader marketing and advertising community.
Our goal is for attendees to leave with a greater understanding of:
- The current state of commercial film and content production in Houston.
- The relationship between advertising, marketing, production companies, talent, and supporting organizations.
- How Houston’s creative ecosystem benefits brands, agencies, businesses, and the local economy.
- The opportunities and challenges facing both commercial and entertainment production.
- What it will take to strengthen Houston’s position as a premier destination for film and content creation.
