About this Event
Growth has been happening for a long time in Chelan and Douglas counties, and given the region’s livability and close proximity to the Seattle and Spokane metro areas, more is on the way. The state has determined about 18,000 new homes need to be constructed in Chelan and Douglas counties over the next 20 years in order to catch up with demand, with about half of those homes priced for low- and moderate-income households. In the Greater Wenatchee Area and some other nearby communities, that will require higher housing densities.
The Summit — “Housing Our Valley: How do we increase density in our neighborhoods respectfully?” — is offering the following sessions:
- What State Housing Mandates Mean for You and Your Community
- Local Cities and Counties: Planning for Future Growth
- Recognition of Local Success Stories
- Middle-Market Housing: Changing the Narrative
- Infill with Smaller Homes
- Mechanisms to Get Affordable Housing Built
The Housing Summit is geared for all community members, including government leaders and planners, housing industry representatives, and nonprofit leaders.
The cost to attend is $15, which includes lunch.
