Housing Advocacy 101
About this Event
Lancaster County is facing growing housing challenges that are affecting working families, young adults, older residents, employers, and communities across the region. Rising costs, limited housing options, and local development decisions are increasingly shaping who can afford to stay, who can move here, and what our communities will look like in the future.
Housing Advocacy 101 is a three-part dinner and conversation series designed to help community members better understand how housing, zoning, and local decision-making impact affordability, development, neighborhood change, and community growth across Lancaster County.
Through guided conversations in a small-group setting, participants will explore:
• current housing trends and challenges in Lancaster County
• how zoning and municipal decision-making work
• the connections between housing, affordability, transportation, and community character
• how local meetings and public processes function
• practical ways residents can participate in local conversations and decision-making
The series is discussion-based, approachable, and welcoming to people with all levels of experience or familiarity with housing issues.
Dinner will be served at 6:15 PM, with sessions running from 6:30–7:30 PM.
