Marquette Regional History Center presents:
Houses on the Move: The Neighborhood Before MGH
Wednesday, September 16, 1:30 p.m.
Before there was Marquette General Hospital (MGH) in north Marquette, there was a vibrant neighborhood full of family homes near St. Luke's Hospital. A huge effort was made, starting in the early 1980s, to move the houses from West College and Magnetic streets in Marquette to allow for expansion of the hospital. After identifying where 23 of these homes now rest, Cheryl Anderegg along with Jack Deo and others will tell the stories of many families who lived in these 1920-30s homes. Photographs, maps and research will bring together this unique tale.
Free, daytime program as part of our popular Senior Support Series. In collaboration with Mapping Medicare. Enjoy complimentary Dead River Coffee and a chance to go home with a door prize. All ages are welcome to this daytime event.
