FEES APPLY FOR DISPOSAL OF MATERIAL – Fees paid at event site
REGISTRATION REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE – One registration per vehicle
FEE STRUCTURE & PROCEDURES:
- $20 fee for every 10 gallons/50 lbs of material*
- $12 per fire extinguisher; $15 per pound of liquid mercury
- Cash Payment is preferred, also accept card or check
- Please place all items in car trunk or truck bed and remain in your vehicle
- Please transport chemicals with caution
- Please be mindful of event staff, volunteers, and event signs
*Oversized loads will be subject to additional charges at the discretion of on-site staff.
Please arrive within your registered time slot. All registered participants are guaranteed the opportunity to turn over their materials within that time. Please expect to spend between 10-30 minutes at the event.
ACCEPTED MATERIALS:
The $20 fee covers disposal for every 10 gallons/50 lbs of the following materials:
- All Paint Products (latex, oil based, alkyd based, arts/crafts chemicals, rust preservatives, creosote, water sealers, paint thinners, furniture strippers, and others)
- Aerosol cans
- Automotive fluids (e.g., motor oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze, brake fluid)
- Batteries (all kinds)
- Small propane bottles (16 oz.)
- Chemistry sets
- Compact fluorescent light bulbs (no other bulbs)
- E-Cigarettes
- Gasoline and kerosene
- Household cleaners (ammonia, drain openers, acid cleaners, oven cleaners)
- Mercury thermometers
- Pesticides/garden (rodent killers, insecticides, W**d killers, mothballs, fertilizer)
- Photo & Pool chemicals
- Smoke Detectors
Additional per-item Fees:
- $12 per Fire Extinguisher; $15 per pound of liquid mercury
Tip: To avoid spills and damage to your vehicle, never put leaky containers into your car. If possible, transfer materials to a new container. Preserve the label and place in a zippered plastic bag to keep with replacement container. If you can’t transfer the material, you can isolate the leaky item by placing it in a zippered plastic bag, plastic bucket, etc.

- NO Compressed gas cylinders (large grill/medical)
- NO Explosives
- NO Flares
- NO Fluorescent tubes
- NO Leaking containers
- NO Medical waste (including needles and sharps)
- NO Prescription or non-prescription drugs
- NO PCBs and dioxins
- NO Radioactive materials
- NO Tires
