House Concert with A Different Thread + The Clay Tones

Transatlantic troubadours A Different Thread create richly emotive tapestry of americana.

Lead singers Robert Jackson (Midlands, UK) and Alicia Best (North Carolina) first met busking in Galway, Ireland. Their chance encounter sparked a musical journey that spans over nine years, a dozen countries, and three albums — capturing the love of two folk singers, chasing their dreams on the road.

The duo are multi-instrumentalists with guitar, harmonica, ukulele, fiddle, a suitcase drum-kit, and an abundance of gorgeous harmonies. They have garnered support slots with the likes of The Milk Carton Kids, Native Harrow, and Jody Stephens (Big Star), as well as prime features with NPR and the BBC Radio.

Their upcoming album, Over Again, was recorded in Chapel Hill at Betty's Studio (Watchhouse, The Mountain Goats) and in Bristol, UK at Alma Vale Studio (Elles Bailey, Phantom Limb). These twelve songs are an ode to brigher beginnings and coming full circle- written around the band's relocation stateside and the solar eclipse. Echoes of The Band, John Prine, and Joni Mitchell ripple through the tracks, creating a soul soothing mix that you'll want to play over and over again.

Rooted in the clay of Orange County, The Claytones are continuing the folk tradition by playing music ranging from hand me down fiddle tunes, down home country blues, and original compositions inspired by all of the above.
