✨ HOUDINI SPEAKS TO THE LIVING RETURNS TO AUSTIN ✨
October 28–31, 2026 | at Penfold Theatre
Fresh from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, The Hidden Room’s acclaimed Houdini Speaks to the Living comes home to Austin for four nights only, culminating on Halloween night — exactly 100 years to the day after Harry Houdini’s death.
It’s 1924, and two of the most famous men in the world are locked in a very public battle over the supernatural.
Harry Houdini, master magician and relentless debunker of fraudulent mediums, faces off against Sherlock Holmes creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a passionate believer in Spiritualism and life after death.
What follows is a gripping, eerie, 60-minute theatrical showdown, largely taken from the real words of Houdini and Doyle. Filled with live magic, séance phenomena, sharp debate, the show attempts to answer the eternal question - "Can the dead speak???"
“Magnetic and commanding.” — BroadwayWorld
“Dexterity on both the magic and drama.” — FringeReview
“Does justice to Houdini’s reputation.” — World Magic Review
