Hot Stuff: Electrifying Water Heating, Cooking, and Clothes Drying

What size water heater do I need? How do I switch to an induction stove from a gas one? Which electric appliances can improve my home’s indoor air quality the most? Come learn about the practical considerations and resources available to upgrade to electric appliances in your home at this final workshop in the three part home electrification series sponsored by the City of Rochester in partnership with the Destination Medical Center.

This workshop will include:

• What you need to know about different types, sizing, and wiring needs of electric appliances like heat pump water heaters, induction stoves, electric dryers

• When to consider upgrading your electrical panel or wiring

• Questions to ask contractors and retailers when getting quotes

• Overview of financial incentives and examples of combining them to bring down project costs

Homeowners and renters are welcome, and light dinner will be provided. In person attendance is encouraged to be able to ask all your questions and participate fully in activities.
