Sunday September 13, 2026 at 4pm, The HOT L Poets Series continues at The Ivy Bookshop (Baltimore) with poets David Beaudouin & Eleanor Lewis! The reading includes an open mic so bring a poem (1 poem, 3 min. or less).
Now in our eighth year, the reading series is the work of Smartish Pace and Baltimore Poets Theatre. Hosts: Clare Banks, David Yezzi, and Stephen Reichert.
Books will be available for sale at the event.
Baltimorean David Beaudouin is a widely published poet, educator, and editor. He was the founder of Tropos Press (1976-2001), one of the region’s earliest independent literary presses, as well as the literary magazine THE PEARL (1980-2001). He is the author of seven books of poetry, most recently Afters (Bowerbox Press, 2024) and On Down the Line (UnCollected Press, 2026), which features a 30-year selection of his work. David’s poem “Annunciation” was selected for inclusion in The Best American Poetry 2025. His Substack newsletter, NY Poets :: IOU, has featured conversations with poets Elinor Nauen, Michael Lally, Maureen Owen, and Tony Towle, among others.
Eleanor Lewis is a poet and former co-editor of the Baltimore literary magazine, THE PEARL. Her chapbook, The Endless Undoing, was published by UnCollected Press in 2024. Her work has been published in JMWW, Maryland Poetry Review, Poet Lore, Loch Raven Review, and Shattered Wig Review among other publications.
