1776 tells the satirical story of the Second Continental Congress signing of the Declaration of Independence. We invite you to join us in “the room where it happened” and witness the good, the bad and the ugly of the birth of America. The show will run from July 31-August 15, 2026 at the Numerica Performing Arts Center.
“Imagine a time and place when the Second Continental Congress is a proverbial incubator for a young country trying to find out who it is and what it is made of. This is a musical where the iconic styles of Broadway shows such as Hamilton and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson collide as John Adams and Benjamin Franklin struggle to engage this Second Continental Congress to debate the idea of America’s Independence from Great Britain. It portrays a divided and cantankerous Congress running amok as each member ‘piddles twiddles and resolves’ to get what is best for themselves and the colonies they represent,” explained Director and Producer Jaime Donegan. “It’s messy, it’s hilarious, it’s dramatic and it’s timeless and timely.”
Veterans and members of the military receive a $5/ticket discount.
