About this Event

Join NERN member and naturalist Louise Marum for an exciting underground journey in Wisconsin's second-longest natural cave. This is a rare opportunity to see Door County’s Horseshoe Bay Cave which is located in Frank Murphy County Park near Egg Harbor.

The cave contains some unique geologic formations and is historically the largest natural bat hibernation site in Wisconsin. If you love bats, caves, and learning about the geological history of Northeast Wisconsin, this is the tour for you!

This adventure will involve a short section of hands and knees crawling to reach a large chamber where the group will be able to stand comfortably. For those who are interested there will be the opportunity to explore further, but we will stay out of the water for this tour. The cave is around 55◦F, so dress appropriately. Knee pads, helmets and headlamps will be provided.

This special fundraising tour is priced at $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for children 12 and under. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Proceeds support the WI-Ledge Educational Signage Program.

REGISTER TODAY!

Pre-registration is required, and payment must be made at time of registration. Refunds only if trip cancelled by NERN. Only 10 spots available per tour, so sign up soon! Register by September 1st, 2026
