Horror Poetry - Summer Workshop for Adults
About this Event
Horror as a genre and poetry as a medium share an important quality: they both aim to unsettle us in some way, and shine a little bit of torchlight into the shadows, showing us glimpses of the otherwise unseen.
This one-day workshop of writing exercises and group activities will allow you to explore various shades of horror fiction while you experiment with writing poetry, bringing the two together in wonderfully frightening ways. We’ll look closely at folk horror, eco horror, Gothic horror, and weird fiction, and think about how we use poetry to really get under the reader’s or audience’s skin.
Just bring your imagination, your nightmares, a bit of courage, and your enthusiasm for writing!
