This event is the PREMIERE of this concert seriesVoices New Zealand’s latest concert programme takes audiences on a journey, a quest for a new homeland.
This quest is real for millions of people every day, every week, every year; the need to leave a home, a country, their memories behind. In this immersive concert setting audiences are invited to promenade throughout the performances, as if on a bustling marketplace (or pick a resting spot on some of the chairs provided).
Featuring the world-premiere of Huwiyati Muhajer (Citizens of Horizons) by Palestinian Jordanian artist and composer Shireen Abu-Khader, alongside works by Ériks Ešenvalds, Bob Chilcott, Antonín Dvořák and Aotearoa composers Rosa Elliott and Takerei Komene, Horizons is a concert journey you will not want to miss.
