Friday, September 12th from 6-9pm, join us at OSC-Press for the opening of Katie Graham's Hoppy Hobby: a joyful fiber exhibition of froggies with hobbies! Artist Katie Graham will display an array of adorable woven frogs each with their own styles, interests and personalities. Come by the shop to meet these unique critters, enjoy some light refreshments and get a live-printed t-shirt!

Bio: Katie Graham is a self-taught fiber artist and emerging author based in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She creates embroidered appliquéd pieces that explore symbolic narratives rooted in personal healing, folklore, and archetypal imagery. Graham has exhibited her fiber work throughout central Oklahoma including exhibitions at The Oklahoma Hall of Fame, Mainsite Gallery, Goldfang Gallery, DNA Gallery, and Mycelium Gallery. Her work has been reviewed in the Oklahoma Women’s Journal, OU Daily, and Free Press OKC. In 2025 Graham was awarded the Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts Emerging Artist ribbon and received an invitation to participate in the 2026 Oklahoma Festival of the Arts where she will debut her largest body of work to date.
Statement: I create hand embroidered fabric applique pieces that depict archetypes based on my personal experiences and healing journey. I tell the stories of these archetypes through threaded fables, often depicting portraits, animals, and spirits while also incorporating natural elements such as flora, fauna, and fungi. Whether my work appears lighthearted or deeply contemplative, every piece is rooted in the exploration of my internal world with the purpose to better understand my life and the lessons that helped shape it. I tell these stories to honor the parts of myself who have existed, who are currently being created, and who will one day become. Most of my inspiration is found when exploring nature, reading classic fairy tales, stargazing, and listening to stories of resilience. I enjoy mixing various fabrics, with lace, felt, and hand embroidered details adorned with beads, sequins, and jewelry. I combine these fiber elements to create a collage-like look with the hope of conjuring nostalgia, magic, and whimsy with my viewers.
